Broadband service – powered by Choptank Electric Cooperative – now available to many!
We are making great progress in the effort to construct the fiber broadband system our members requested. Using the cooperative principles that are at the core of our business, Choptank Electric Cooperative created Choptank Fiber, a wholly-owned subsidiary, to deliver high-speed, high-quality, and affordable internet service to families and small businesses throughout our service territory. Our goal is to serve the unserved. With support from local government, grant funding and a strong business plan, we are delivering on our promise of inclusive, reliable service one rural community at a time.

When will broadband be available?
We began connecting customers in Spring 2021. Choptank Fiber is working as quickly as we can in areas around the Eastern Shore.
How much will it cost?
For specific pricing and plan details, visit our Packages webpage. We do plan to offer broadband over fiber optic connections directly to the home. We will offer packages up to 2.5 gigabit speeds and we will not have data caps. We are also offering phone service.

How can I sign up for broadband?
Complete the registration survey above. This does not obligate anyone to sign up for internet service when it becomes available; that will be a separate application process. We will reach out to members who enter their information as broadband becomes available in their communities. Updates will be available here and on Choptank Electric's social media channels.
Preparing for your Choptank Fiber Installation
Locating and marking underground wires and pipes is the responsibility of the person or company that owns that wire or pipe. When you contract with Choptank Fiber to have underground fiber installed from the roadway to your house, you bear significant responsibility in locating and marking things buried on your property.
